The recent tour in Poland with my quartet was simply fantastic. We played at the wonderful stage of Narodowe Forum Muzyki in Wrocław during Jazztopad Festival, had some great time in Łódź teaching students from the Academy of Music's Jazz Department for the most of the day and then jamming along in the evening and last but not least we visited the always stunning city of Warsaw to play at the newly reopened legendary jazz club Aquarium. We have a lot of new material and some new concerts coming up next year and hopefully a new release. I am psyched already!
I've been a part of a wonderful 5-week big-band composition workshop Komposium 3.0 under the artistic guidance by the phenomenal Swiss composer Mathias Rüegg. Together with 9 other composers we have been working on one composition each. The whole material will be presented this weekend by one of the tightest bigbands in Denmark, "The Orchestra". I've been working for some time on a new band and tonight is the night to present it to the world. We are going to play a mixture of Krzysztof Komeda's and my music. The concert is a part of a presentation of Polish jazz and movies from the 60s and we hit the stage in Asta Bar @ Cinemateket/Danish Film Institute at 21:00. The band features Tomasz Dąbrowski on trumpet, Frederick Menzies on tenor sax, Søren Gemmer on wurlitzer and Tapani Toivanen on bass. For tickets look here:

Back to work again!
I had a fantastic summer holidays but now it's time to kick off the new season. This weeks performances include my own Atlantic Quartet in Odense on Friday, 25 Aug at 19.00. We are going to play right on the middle of the city's pedestrian street at Kongensgade 48. You will hear it passing through.
There is also some more coming. I am a part of a great project led by HC Frank on guitar with Dennis Heilesen on bass. We play new arrangements of Danish church songs and it sounds really fresh. On Sunday, 27 Aug at 19:30 we will be playing in a wonderful church in Børkop near Fredericia, called Brejning Kirke. You should check it out if you are around.

Copenhagen Jazz Festival 2017 is over and I am going to have a couple of weeks off to regenerate before the new season starts in the second half of August, but if you missed my shows you can still listen to our live studio concert during the festival. With a group of friends we managed for the first time to arrange a little festival within the festival called PolishDanish Jazz Days, highlighting 10 years of collaboration between young Polish and Danish musicians. More info here:

This Saturday I am going do have my real debut as a composer. Pomeranian Youth Big Band from my hometown Szczecin are going to perform Tomasz Licak's and my arrangements of Danish and Polish folk tunes. I am psyched!

A brilliant Brazilian pianist Alex Correa is coming to Copenhagen next week to join Kasper Lang Quartet. We are looking so much forward to that!
Leon is coming! The Beat Freaks are going to hit the Southern Poland! We're gonna play in Rzeszów, Strzyżów, Sucha Beskidzka and Kuźnia Raciborska. We are also going to be the part of jury in a jazz competition in Strzyżów alongside the legendary keyboardist Zbigniew Jakubek. Looking so much forward!
